WEBCAM DART TOURNAMENTS
The outbreak of Covid-19 prompted many dedicated dart players to sign up with online dart platforms such as - www.webcamdarts.com to play darts. The site is free to play and you're encouraged to give a small donation of 10 pounds to support the site.
I organized the first WDT on May 1st 2020 and hope to conduct similar tournaments every week. The tournaments are by invitation only and all matches are played on www.webcamdarts.com. and match setup/progress/results posted on www.challonge.com .
RULES
HD Cam, mic and lighting setup must be approved by me to participate.
Each player must have a dedicated dart board.
Friday matches start latest by 7 pm with maximum 16 players. Players must start their match within 10 minutes when their opponent confirms availability. If a player is unable to play, that match will be awarded to the opponent.
Do not play loud music, talk or rattle your darts while opponent is shooting.
Both players to diddle to decide who stats the first leg. Only darts that hit single or double bull count.
Start is determined by a diddle with only a dart that hits a single or double bull counted. If scores are tied on the deciding leg, you will diddle again.
Game format for the 1st WDT was best 3 of 5 legs, singles, double elimination. A loss moves a player to the losers bracket and a second change to reach the finals. Once in the losers bracket, any loss is an elimination. The finalist from the winners bracket is in the Kings seat and must be defeated twice by the finalist from the losers bracket to be the runner up.
Game format currently played is 501 best 3 of 5 legs. Round robin first round with players grouped as per their averages in webcamdart. Next round is elimination.
Keep track of your match win/loss after every leg and write it down manually. In the event the game is disrupted due to a glitch, you will resume from the balance score (of the leg) at time of disruption only if both players are in agreement what the balance was for both players. Ideally take a screen shot when disruption occurs to avoid disagreement. If both player are unable to prove or agree to continue from the balance score of the leg, then the game will continue from the last completed leg of the match.
After every throw, a player will in the order below
1. Announce their score.
2. Enter the score on their computer.
3. Pull the darts out of the board one at a time especially for closely grouped and high scoring darts.
If there is a possibility of a dart falling out before you retrieve it, attend to the dart first by pushing it into the board.
