I was introduced to darts by a friend in 1990 while working as an expatriate in the Sultanate of Oman and immediately fell in love with the game. After a year of practice on a cheap dartboard/darts and some social games, my friend insisted I participate in a tournament. I got knocked out of the main tournament, moved to the consolation round and lost in the finals.
A local team considered me a good prospect and was recruited in their A division team. Unfortunately, I struggled for two years, playing excellent in practice and social games but struggled in league matches. My nerves would cause my heart to pound and my hands to tremble. However, with determination and a passion for the game, I overcame my weakness to become a recognized player in Dubai and Oman. In one of the Oman open tournament in 1994, I hit five 180's and was runner up in the tournament (view newpaper clipping below)
I moved to Dubai in 1995 and was the General Secretary of the Dubai dart league. I've played in the Oman Dart Club, Oman Super League, Ras al Khaimah Dart League and Dubai Dart league in the Middle East. I moved to Canada in 2001 and have played in the Metro Toronto area Dart League, Scarborough Dart League, Dixie Dart League, Toronto Summer Dart League, Etobicoke Pub Dart League, Brampton Bramalea Dart League, Region of Peel Dart League and the Royal Canadian Legion #139. I run a Singles Super dart league and details can be found on the SSDL link on this website.
