WEBCAM DART LEAGUE

The outbreak of Covid-19 prompted many players to sign up on online platforms to play darts . I signed up on www.webcamdarts.com and so did many of my colleagues. The site is free to play and you're encouraged to give a small donation of 10 pounds to support the site.

The 1st season of WDL started on March 28th 2020.

The 2nd season of WDL started on May 10th.

RULES

League is by invitation only, to players with approved lighting and external HD cam/mic.

Do not play loud music, talk or rattle your darts while opponent is shooting.

Players who cheat and are disrespectful will be banned.

Each player will play the other 2 times on a home and away basis. and home player will start the match. Players will diddle if match is tied on the 9th leg and only single/double bull will count.

Please do not drop out midway without a valid reason. If a player drops out after completing 1 set (i.e played all opponents once), then the match points scored against this player stand. If they drop out before completing 1 set, then all points scored against this player will be deleted. If they drop out midway in the 2nd round, then points from the 1st round stand and 2nd round deleted.

This is a social, yet competitive league with bragging rights.

Players will communicate their availability to set up a match on the WDL WhatsApp group.

Before start of a game, both players to check to ensure cam and mic are in working condition.

Keep track and write down match win/loss after every leg. If a glitch disrupts the game, you will resume from the balance score (of the leg) only if both players are in agreement what the balance was for both players. Ideally take a screen shot when disruption occurs to avoid disagreement. If both player are unable to prove or agree, then the game will continue from the last completed leg of the match assuming both players are in agreement. Also manually write down the 180/171 and 100+ finishes.

After every throw, a player will in the order below

1. Announce their score and not speak beyond that as you're opponent is already on the oche.

2. Enter the score on their computer

3. Pull the darts out of the board one at a time especially for closely grouped and high scoring darts.

If there is a chance of a dart falling out before you retrieve it, attend to the dart first by pushing it into the board.
